Jeans: Endangered Species?

The natural evolution of the skinny jean has led to leggings; the more comfortable and colorful way of dressing the legs. In a variety of textures and patterns, and lately, with added accessories (such as zippers, buttons, cut-outs) the legging is leaving jeans in the dust. Why dabble with denim? It's stiff and rigid, and really, boring. Jeans can be frumpy, but leggings are inherently sleek- finding a legging to fit your body is as simple as stretch... My Darwinian instincts tell me jeans could soon become extinct.

All leggings pictured here are American Apparel.

  1. I think you're on to something here! I hadn't even realized. Jeans are stiff legged clunky leg warmers...otherwise known as a thing of the past.

Born and raised under the Los Angeles sun and smog. At sixteen spent some time in LA County Juvenile Detention Center, although never really learned her lesson. Moved to Boston for the classic college experience. Spray painted graffiti in the Paris Metro during six month stay in the Marais. Survived an ultra fabulous and frightening internship at Vogue Magazine while living at a nunnery in Hell's Kitchen. Lived a year in Seoul, a city which can only be compared to a Disneyland theme park. Written four hundred sixty-four words of an undisclosed masterpiece novel. Currently pondering her next adventure and also the meaning of her memoirs from an artist's loft in dirty Brooklyn.
